Bridging Our Gender Gap: Top 5 Tips (PART 2)

4. Remember America’s First Film, Birth of a Nation” (1915)
America’s first film depicted the Ku Klux Klan as heroes who fought against the perceived chaos that freed Dark-Brown people would bring:
  • Mulatto man would serve as the leader of the Dark-Brown people
  • White people and Dark-Brown people could have sexual relations, but anarchy would ensue
  • Dark-Brown men would act as rabid animals toward white women; Dark-Brown women would act as Jezebels toward any man who pays them attention
  • The Ku Klux Klan would act as saviors of whites from freed Dark-Brown people
Can you find any similarities between this supposedly fictional film and what’s going on today in real-life?
5. Embrace & Love Your Dark-Brownness
One of my biggest pet-peeves is when I see Dark-Brown people hating their own features. Dark-Brown people completely ignore the fact that people who don't have dark-brown features, are paying thousands of dollars in plastic surgery to possess them. Here's what you should tell yourself, the next time a self-hating tantrum comes along:
  • Dark-Brown skin is often smooth, hides blemishes and defines tone. It just looks good! That's why tanning is a billion-dollar industry and ever-popular among body builders, athletes, models and entertainers
  • Full lips are good lips! They are sexy, soft and useful when enticing!
  • Coiled hair is versatile, going from coiled to straight. The key is taking care of it, like a newborn baby
  • The broader the nose, the more BS you smell from people and that's a good thing. So, get over it!
Remember, Self-Hatred is not appealing, sexy or believable. Just ask Sammy Sosa!

Bridging Our Gender Gap: Top 5 Tips (PART 1)

We have to start actively thinking about what we do individually to create dissension within our culture, and not allow ourselves to do it. Here are a few encouraging tips to think about as you interact with other Dark-Brown people and go about your day:
1. Remember the Willie Lynch Letter
The Willie Lynch Letter served as a guide for slave owners to make slaves obedient and increase their profits. It combined both physical and psychological techniques to ensure the bond between Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women would be broken:
We reversed nature by burning and pulling a civilized nigger apart and bullwhipping the other to the point of death, all in her presence. By her being left alone, unprotected, with the MALE IMAGE DESTROYED, the ordeal caused her to move from her psychologically dependent state to a frozen, independent state. In this frozen, psychological state of independence, she will raise her MALE and female offspring in reversed roles.
  • For FEAR of the young male’s life, she will psychologically train him to be MENTALLY WEAK and DEPENDENT, but PHYSICALLY STRONG.
  • Because she has become psychologically independent, she will train her FEMALE offsprings to be psychologically independent.
By throwing the nigger female savage into a frozen psychological state of independence, by killing
the protective male image, and by creating a submissive dependent mind of the nigger male slave, we have created an orbiting cycle that turns on its own axis forever, unless a phenomenon occurs and re-shifts the position of the male and female slaves.
2. Stop Hating On Your Own Race When Engaging With Other Races
Far too often, Dark-Brown people particularly, feel a need to compromise the love of themselves, their culture, and their people when dealing with people of other races.
  • Hating your own people doesn’t make you less Dark-Brown nor does it make you more accepted with other races.
  • It reveals self-hatred, weakness and how easy it is to get you to turn against yourself.
  • If someone of another race delights in you hating yourself, culture or people, then they’re revealing their true intentions in dealing with you in the first place.
 3. Speak and Show Kindness to Each Other in Passing
The anger exhibited by Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women towards each other when merely crossing paths, with or without a person of another race by their side, is nauseating.
  • The Civil Rights Movement would have never happened if Dark-Brown men and women acted the way they do today, towards each other back then.
  • We smiled and showed kindness towards each other at a time when the world was against us.  Now we feel the world is on our side and forgot the love that brought us to this point.
  • Her frown comes from being bullied about her beauty, weight and hair. Her guard is up on her face, but not in her heart. Don’t add to the bullying. Show her a smile she’ll never forget. It won’t always be reciprocated, but your end goal is to bridge the gender gap.
  • He brags and boasts, but goes home to self-loath. An acknowledgment of a job well done, when he does right is all it takes sometimes. Make it a point!

Our Gender Gap: Top 5 Reasons

1. Myth: Interracial Relationships are Better than Same Race Ones
Assholes, bitches, liars and cheaters are prevalent in every race and ethnic group. To perpetuate the notion that the gender of one race is “nicer” or better than another, is as backwards as spreading the idea that Dark-Brown people enjoyed slavery.

So, here’s the solution: Stop being a Modern Day Slave—all too happy to serve and uplift an oppressive image of your own people. As MLK would say, don’t judge people “… by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

2. Hypocrisy
As a group with a history of being discriminated against, Dark-Brown people are often the worse offenders of discrimination—particularly against other Dark-Brown people. Ever heard or said these phrases:

·         “I don’t date Black women”
·         “I don’t date Black men”
·         “She’s cute for a dark-skin girl”
·         “He’s cute but, he’s too dark”
·         “I don’t want dark-skin children”
·         “Get your black-ass over here!”

Solution: You can’t cry discrimination only when it applies to someone of another race. Recognizing and addressing our own discriminatory behavior should be the first priority. Otherwise, you’re being a hypocrite.

3. No Personal Accountability: “The Blame Game”
This is one of the main reasons for the gender gap between Dark-Brown men and women. When you can’t admit to your mistakes or shortcomings and blame what you do on others, you make it that much harder to bridge our gender gap.

Solution: Dark-Brown people must stop looking for excuses for their behavior.

Dark-Brown men, stop blaming what you do on society, “the man,” “the Black woman” and slavery. If you are on the street dealing drugs, committing crimes, sexing multiple women, unable to care for your multiple children, then expect to get caught and don’t get upset when you’re made to face your consequences.

Dark-Brown women, stop having multiple sex partners, refusing to work because you're receiving child-support, and cursing and yelling at your children. As a woman, you are responsible for either breaking or continuing a negative cycle for the next generation of human beings. Hold yourself accountable for making our future better.

4. Degradation
The back-and-forth exhibited between Dark-Brown men and women about which
gender is better is self-destructive. It’s often a barrage of unsupported claims and statements filled with rhetoric but disguised as fact. Here's something to think about:

·         If all Dark-Brown women are “angry,” then doesn’t that make all Dark-Brown men “cry-babies?”
·         If all Dark-Brown men have multiple “baby-mamas,” then doesn’t that make every Dark-Brown woman a “baby-mama?”

Solution: Mature and grow up! Both genders have their roles to play in the relationship:

Dark-Brown men look outside of pimps and rappers for real-world examples of men. Real men don’t degrade their race of women and they provide for their family. Name another race of men, that tells the world that they hate the women of their own race?

i.e. Al Roker and Deborah Roberts:  Al isn't threatened by the success of his wife, Deborah. He supports, loves and doesn't degrade her. They are partners, they are Dark Brown Love!

Dark-Brown women you can’t do it all alone, don’t emasculate your Dark-Brown men. Work together as partners, but don’t take on his role and don’t tell him he’s worthless. Show me one woman who can procreate on her own.

i.e. Pauletta Washington and Denzel Washington: Pauletta was supportive of Denzel after giving up her music career so that he could pursue acting. She didn't make him feel worthless or emasculate him by trying to be the man in their home. They are partners, they are Dark Brown Love!

5.  Loss of Ethnocentrism = Loss of Self
Between J. Edgar Hoover's "COINTELPRO" program and the government's use of Dark-Brown drug dealers to flood crack-cocaine into urban homes and dismantle family life, the strong sense of self previously held by Dark-Brown people was crippled. Leaders from civil rights groups fell victim to the zombie-like effects of crack and Dark-Brown people were on a destructive path to losing their ethnocentrism. By Dark-Brown people losing the knowledge of their historical past and heritage, they essentially lose themselves.

This loss of self, effects our ability to connect with the experiences of the past in order to avoid making the same mistakes in the future. Essentially, we have wiped the slate and hit the reset button for those who seek to rid the world of Dark-Brown people.

Solution:  Read the "Willie Lynch Letter" because it explains the psychological and physical breakdown of Dark-Brown people that turned them from being men and women, into obedient slaves. Learn from what was done in your past to avoid repeating history!

Also, take the time to learn about who you are and where you come from by engaging older people who were involved with the civil rights movement. Need access to more instantaneous information? Check out the National Archives and Record Administration (NARA) website and even the FBI.

Must See Video: "Birth of a Nation"

Dark Brown Love (DBL) is about bridging the gender gap between Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women. In this, my second blog post, I challenge you to once again view DBL's must see video:

Why "Birth of a Nation?" Because this film was used to justify the need for a group like the Ku Klux Klan. Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women today, are depicting in real-life the same behavior depicted in Birth of a Nation that gave rise to the Ku Klux Klan.

That's why D.W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation," is a DBL must see!

Let me know your thoughts and comments!

Must See Video: "Maafa 21"

Dark Brown Love (DBL) is about bridging the gender gap between Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women. This is my first blog post. As such, it's important to understand the full spectrum of this blog. To do this, I challenge you to view DBL's first must see video:
Why "Maafa 21?" Because this documentary reveals how abortion and sterilization were used as techniques to rid America of Dark-Brown people. The premise was simple, if Dark-Brown children are not born, then they cannot produce children and a race of people will cease to exist. This idea was successful in every way, except it didn't stop every Dark-Brown child from being born.

Today, the idea of ridding America of Dark-Brown people continues and is stronger than ever! There is a gender divide being created between Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women, a technique that serves the same purpose as abortion--to end the Dark-Brown population.

By adding the element of a gender divide between Dark-Brown men and Dark-Brown women to the continued high abortion rate of Dark-Brown people, our non-existence is becoming a reality!

Ending that gender divide between Dark-Brown people, is why Dark Brown Love exists!
