Bridging Our Gender Gap: Top 5 Tips (PART 2)

4. Remember America’s First Film, Birth of a Nation” (1915)
America’s first film depicted the Ku Klux Klan as heroes who fought against the perceived chaos that freed Dark-Brown people would bring:
  • Mulatto man would serve as the leader of the Dark-Brown people
  • White people and Dark-Brown people could have sexual relations, but anarchy would ensue
  • Dark-Brown men would act as rabid animals toward white women; Dark-Brown women would act as Jezebels toward any man who pays them attention
  • The Ku Klux Klan would act as saviors of whites from freed Dark-Brown people
Can you find any similarities between this supposedly fictional film and what’s going on today in real-life?
5. Embrace & Love Your Dark-Brownness
One of my biggest pet-peeves is when I see Dark-Brown people hating their own features. Dark-Brown people completely ignore the fact that people who don't have dark-brown features, are paying thousands of dollars in plastic surgery to possess them. Here's what you should tell yourself, the next time a self-hating tantrum comes along:
  • Dark-Brown skin is often smooth, hides blemishes and defines tone. It just looks good! That's why tanning is a billion-dollar industry and ever-popular among body builders, athletes, models and entertainers
  • Full lips are good lips! They are sexy, soft and useful when enticing!
  • Coiled hair is versatile, going from coiled to straight. The key is taking care of it, like a newborn baby
  • The broader the nose, the more BS you smell from people and that's a good thing. So, get over it!
Remember, Self-Hatred is not appealing, sexy or believable. Just ask Sammy Sosa!
